Data Captain (Commercial)

## About the Role Instawork's IRL (Instawork Robotics Labs) deploys skilled workers into real commercial environments to capture task data used to train robotics foundation models. The Commercial Data Captain onboards commercial businesses onto the data collection platform, manages a team of Field Officers, and ensures maximum recording hours across all active locations. ## Key Responsibilities - Identify, pitch, and onboard commercial businesses (retail shops, kitchens, construction sites, workshops) for data collection - Ensure weekly hours targets are met across onboarded businesses to hit slab bonuses - Manage Field Officers stationed at business locations - Coordinate device allocation and maintain the business pipeline tracking sheet - Ensure business owners understand payout structure and stay motivated ## Business Development & Field Officer Management - Visit 8-10 commercial businesses daily to pitch the opportunity - Handle objections and get agreements signed on the spot - Track device-hours logged daily; call Field Officers at underperforming locations - Coordinate device logistics across locations ## Required Skills & Eligibility - Strong communication and persuasion skills (daily sales pitching to business owners) - Ability to manage a remote team of Field Officers - Comfort walking into businesses cold and pitching - Good knowledge of Bengaluru areas - Own smartphone required; two-wheeler preferred ## Compensation - Base salary: ₹25,000/month (fixed) - Weekly slab bonuses based on total device-hours delivered: 400 hrs = ₹15,200, 600 hrs = ₹28,500, 800 hrs = ₹45,600, 1,000 hrs = ₹95,000 (only highest slab achieved pays out) - Maximum weekly earnings: approximately ₹1,01,000 (base + top slab) ## How to Prepare for This Role ### Skills to Build Before Applying Cold-pitching/sales fundamentals, basic team coordination and remote management practices, familiarity with Bengaluru's commercial areas (markets, industrial zones, retail clusters). ### Interview Preparation Common questions: how would you pitch a cold business owner in under 60 seconds, how do you handle rate-negotiation objections, how would you motivate an underperforming Field Officer remotely.
